Loves

Every month I write in a notebook about the “loves” the kids have, how big they are and their new accomplishments.  Here is this months:

Ava Loves:

  • Caramel and apples, ranch and carrots, mac and cheese.  You are a sauce girl.
  • Princesses.  You love princess movies, books, clothes…anything princess like.
  • Reading.  You have started to recognize words and are even beginning to sound some words out.  But for now, you love to be read to.
  • Daddy.  You have always been a Daddy’s girl and truly light up when he walks in the door.
  • Sleep.  You still nap for 3 ish hours every day and sleeps about 12 hours at night.  (Be jealous! )
  • Music.  You love  Dave Mathews Band, Third Day, Rascal Flatts, Grits, Billy Joel and even classical.
  • Mismatching Clothes.  On a perfect day, you would wear a fancy dress with mismatching socks, a sweater and some cowboy boots.

At 4 years and 2 months you are now 41 lbs and 42 inches tall.  You wear a size 5 pant, XS shirt and size 12 shoes.  I am not ready for my baby to be out of the “t’s” and into the big girl section.

Your whit and sense of humor are starting to become obvious.  At your first gymnastics class, you chose to face plant into the mat instead of doing a somersault.  When you stood up after, you looked straight at me with a huge smile on your face and said “What?….What?”  You are still an avid learner and question everything to try to understand things better.  I love listening to you talk and I love watching you as you try to figure things out.  Your memory is still amazing.  I wish I could remember details the way that you do.  You are truly magical.

Sam Loves:

  • Fruit, Bread and Soymilk.  We have to with hold these items at dinner to get you to eat any meat or veggies.  You are coming around though.
  • Cars.  You love Mater, Lightning, Mack and Sally and have only seen the movie twice.  When I ask what you want to sing at bedtime, without fail, its “Life is a Highway.”  Its hard to make that song into a lullaby.
  • Dancing.  Any time there is music playing in this house, you are dancing.
  • Hiding.  You love to hide but you also love to hide things.  I have found shoes hanging on hangers, cars shoved underneath your clothes in the dresser and cups in the dryer.
  • Machinery.  You love to watch semis drive down the road or excavators at work.
  • Disassembling.  You love to take things apart and put them back together whether it be my phone, vacuum or your quesadilla.

At 2 years, 7 months you are 32lbs and 38 inches tall.  You wear a size 4t shirt, 3t pants and size 10 shoes.

Your biggest “accomplishment” this week was being sent to the directors office at Mom’s Day Out for disruptive behavior.  Apparently your listening/obeying skills were not working that day.  When I asked you what happened at school you told me you had to go talk to the office because of your “bad choices.”  Oh sweet Sam, I hope this was a one time thing and not a sign of things to come.  You are funny and so tender hearted.  You still miss Ava when she is at school and cry when she is gone for too long.    I love your orneriness and your fascination of all things boy.
